I am Vanessa Carmean and I have owned labs and GSPs for a combined 37yrs. I am currently the South Central Director Board Member for the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) and owner of Lonestar Kennels in Houston, Texas. I am very active with our local GSP clubs in AKC show, dockdiving, obedience, rally, field trial and hunt tests.  For the last 13 years, I have been active members of four pointing breed clubs in my area. I own 5 German Shorthaired pointers and we are avid wild bird hunters and compete nationally as amateurs. I am an owner and operator of Lonestar Kennels, a doggyday care. I am a breeder of merit within the AKC and focus on always bettering the breed through our breeding program.

At a national level, on top of being your current South Central Director, I volunteer with the GSPCA National Show Specialty (NSS) Merchandise Committee and with the NSS Awards Events, as well as, attend and compete at the NSS.   I  have also attended and competed at the GSPCA National Field Trial in Eureka, KS multiple years. I have volunteered on the executive committee for the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship for multiple years and was HospitalityChair, Event Chair multiple years. I am now the Board Liaison for this same committee for the last several years. I have volunteered, competed and placed at the GSPCA National Amateur Gun DogChampionship the last several years. I am also the Board liaison for the GSPCA Water Tests, Breed Illustrated Standard and Breed Education.

Even with all of this volunteering, I recently finished our third Dual Champion and have one that is a single point to finish our fourth Dual Grand Champion and we have a new youngster starting her career in bird-doggness!
